Bible verse for today (move the mouse to the reference to read the verse)
(Luke 18:26) And the ones who heard said, And who can be saved?
A young rich man came to Jesus and wanted to know how he can inherit eternal life? Jesus asked him to follow the commandments of God. The young man said he was observing the commandments form his younger days. Jesus asks him to sell all he had, give to the poor, so that he will have treasure in heaven and then come, and follow Him. Because he was rich the young man was not willing to part with his riches and went away sad.

Today the same thing is happening. People hold on to the things they think they created. They are not willing to part with the pleasures of this world. To inherit eternal life there has to be a humbling and surrender. The joys, pleasures, friendships, relationships, health, fame, beauty and riches will all perish. Forsaking any or all of these for your faith in Jesus Christ is worth the reward of eternal life. Moses was brought up as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. (Heb. 11:24-28) Having become great, Moses by faith refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. Through faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest He who destroyed the first-born should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned.

God does not want any to perish in hell fire. Everybody can inherit eternal life, by faith on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 17:30-31) Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now He strictly commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead. Jesus Christ will judge the world. Are you ready to be saved? John 3:16. Eternal life is a gift of God to all those who believe on Jesus Christ.
